FAQ
Quick answers to the things people ask most.
Are the prices on TravelVulture real?▼
They're estimates based on partner data plus historical averages. Your actual booking happens on the partner site at their live price. We constantly refine the estimates, but for the exact number you'll pay, click through to the partner.
Do I book on TravelVulture or on the partner site?▼
Everything is booked on the partner site (Booking.com, Viator, Expedia, etc.). We're a search engine — we don't hold your booking, take your payment, or issue tickets.
How do you make money?▼
When you click through to a partner and complete a booking, the partner pays us a small commission. Your price stays the same — you don't pay anything extra. That's the entire business model.
Do I have to create an account?▼
No. Search, browse, and use the cost-breakdown freely without an account. An account adds saved trips, price alerts, and the community challenge submissions.
How is TravelVulture different from Kayak or Skyscanner?▼
We're a destination matcher, not a flight aggregator. You tell us what you can spend and the vibe you want; we find destinations that fit and break out the total trip cost — transport, hotel, food, activities. Kayak shows you flight prices; we show you the whole trip.
Why do you show bus and train options for short trips?▼
Because they're often the cheapest and most convenient. For a 100 km trip you should never fly — and we make that obvious instead of burying it.
What's the deal with curated trips?▼
These are our own product — guided trips to India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, South Korea, Nepal, and Kenya. We work with local operators we've vetted, and the price you see is the price you pay. Different from search results, which link to third-party booking.
Can I cancel or get a refund?▼
Cancellations and refunds are handled by the partner you booked with — their policy applies. For curated trips, the operator's terms apply (we share them in the inquiry email before you commit).
Where does my data go?▼
Stays with us. We don't sell data to third parties. Read the full Privacy Policy for the specifics.
Why do some destinations not show up for my search?▼
Most likely because the budget doesn't fit the trip length, or you've restricted transport modes too tightly. The empty state shows one-click filter relaxes to fix that.
Do you have an affiliate program?▼
Not yet — we're focused on building. If you're a travel creator or operator and want to be notified when we launch one, drop us a line at partners@travelvulture.com.
